1. The Gateway of India. A huge monument in Mumbai, right on the waterfront, this is a arch that stands around 85 feet high, and sees a large number of visitors every year. It is amazing, and it was built to celebrate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911, and has been a strong standing structure ever since. It has stood the test of time, being built from concrete and yellow basalt (which was gathered locally in India). 2. The Taj Mahal. It’s not the seventh wonder of the world for no reason. This is truly astonishing, and has one heck of a story behind it. It’s made of marble, and it’s said that Shah-Jahan, the man behind it, even lacerated the hands of every worker so that they could never be hired on by someone else to remake it, and steal his masterpiece. Nearly every person who vacations in India, visits the Taj Mahal. And words won’t do it any justice, not to mention the treasures that are kept inside, from artwork, to staircases, even luxury bedding. You won’t regret it, I promise!
3. The Dal Lake. A gorgeous lake of Jammu and Kashmir. It was even once the center of hockey fans as it became frozen in the cold winters and many people gathered there for an evening of ice hockey and ice skating, until the government banned it. The water even reaches as cold as twelve degrees Fahrenheit in the winters, but that shouldn’t turn you against visiting this natural beauty.
4. Nainital. A valley of some sorts located in Uttarakhand which and is a very popular tourist attraction. If you’re not into sightseeing, don’t despair as there’s a little something for everyone here, from horseback riding to boating. If you decide to visit, be sure to travel just moments away to View Point to look at the massive Himalayan Range.
