Everyone should see the Taj Mahal
When visiting India there is one thing that you just can not miss. You must go and see the Taj Mahal, I stopped over at India on my way to the Qatar job I did for the architects I was working for last summer because he insisted I see it.
The Taj Mahal is known as the seventh wonder of the world. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1631. He built it in memory of the wife he loved. His wife, Mumtaz, died while giving birth to their child. The Taj Mahal is said to be a perfect building. It represents the love he had for his wife. It took over 20,000 men 22 years to build it. It is made completely of marble which was donated by the Maharaja of Jaipur. Today it is worth over $200,000,000.
The Taj Mahal has amazing detailing that has no compare in today’s modern times. There are so many buildings that are built on a daily basis that we forget how beautiful buildings can be. When you see the Taj Mahal you get a feeling of love and tenderness. You notice every intricate detail is showing the love of Jahan for his wife. He wanted everything to be an emblem of their love. It took so long to build because it had to be absolutely perfect. There could be no flaw whatsoever as the Emperor felt as though there was no flaw in the love he shared with his wife.
The Taj Mahal is breath taking. It’s beauty will linger in your soul forever. You will feel an all over peace when you see this magnificent building. It is an amazing dedication of love. There are few buildings that are art but the Taj Mahal is an great piece of artwork as well as an amazing structure that everyone should see at least once in their life. If you go to India this is not something you want to miss.
