India Outside the Taj Mahal

We all know that India is one of the major emerging world economies, a country whose economy is growing rather than dipping down into recession as many countries in the west are. The population of India is also tipped to overtake that of China’s approximately 1.2 billion within a few decades, making it the most populous nation in the world.

But I feel that too many visitors to India not only ignore the modern face of the country, with its skyscrapers, business parks and impressive city centres, but they also ignore much of its past heritage and culture. Most tourists concentrate on the beaches of Goa or sights like the Taj Mahal, and although these places are essential to see, you don’t want to miss out on what else India can offer to holidaymakers or business travellers alike.
